There is one mountain top…
And many ways to get to the top.
This is my view on all of the different religions in the world today.
They are all talking about the same place.
And have a different path to get there.
But what all have in common is they are a map on how to live life a certain way.
I remember growing up in a small town with over 10 churches.
I was always wondering…
Who was right?
Was it the church I am going to?
Was it the one my friend went to?
Was it the one that we never have been to?
Was it the “non-denominational” church…
Or the…
Largest church in town?
So many questions.
And the only answer that makes absolute sense to me…
After studying the question for over 20 years is that…
They are all talking about the same destination…
And had their own way of getting there.
And…
That is the daily practice of the principle and values that shows you the way to the world of joy and happiness.
I have learned that even if you don’t have a religion you follow…
You still have a set of principles and values that drive your life.
For some of you they are intentional.
For most they are on autopilot and running by default.
And if you want to change your life…
You have to intentionally change your principles and values to align with the person you want to become.
How do you do that?
Follow those before you.
They left a trail in their…
Books…
Speeches…
Conversations…
Journals…
Everywhere they were because….
That is who they are.
They are the “message”.
They live their life by example and then share their life…
To show others the way.
We see this in everything we do…
Not just religion.
We see it in the everyday education system.
Pre-school…
Elementary school…
Middle school…
High school…
College.
These are simply someone that figured something out to better their life to accomplish a goal…
And then shared it.
And our goal is to learn all we can.
The challenge I see today is that…
People are living life by a set of principles that doesn’t align with the destination they want to go.
Notice I didn’t say the “right principles”.
That is because we have to remove the “right and the wrong” from the conversation…
Because we are all headed to the same mountain top…
So pick a route.
Pick a mentor…
And go.
Seek out mentors who have what you want…
And live life how you want…
And start consuming everything you can from them.
Just make sure the person leading the conversation actually practices their life by the principles and values they promote…
Because many do not…
And that is a learning experience in itself…
Ask me how I know.
Also remember that it is a practice and that means…
We are all practicing it every second of every day.
And if you want to change your life you need to get intentional about the practice.
So pick up a map and start the next phase of your journey.
The “map” could be…
A book…
A class…
A training video…
A podcast…
Or anything else that helps guide you in the direction of your dream life.
For many people in the world it will be a religious or spiritual text.
And for those people I want to share..
If the text aligns with values of peace, compassion, and love…
You have the right one.
So don’t worry 🙂
Because I think that is where most people want to go.
The next step…
Become the work and share it.
Cheers to living an intentional life!
